Ordained in 2005 in Waterloo, Ontario, I have learned and grown in ministry while serving at pastoral charges in both rural and urban settings. Settlement took me to south-east Saskatchewan, and in 2013 I responded to a call to Brechin United Church in Nanaimo. I retired from full-time ministry as of June 30, 2019, and for the last year have been discerning what this next phase in life's journey is inviting me to experience. Prior to retiring, I trained to be a Fresh Start facilitator (a National UCofC program to help encourage new pastoral relationships). Since retiring, I have joined a choir, a photography club, a trails society, volunteered at a lunch and food distribution program, filled in as pulpit supply, and re-discovered long lost baking skills. I have, of course, also enjoyed spending more time with my spouse, John, who is also a retired UCofC minister. Together we enjoy kayaking, boating, camping, walking the local trails, and connecting with family in Ontario and Alberta (currently a virtual exercise due to Covid-19). Serving at Campbell River United Church for a 3/4 time appointment potentially spanning from October 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 is a welcomed opportunity and I am enjoying stretching and flexing with the CRUC Community of Faith. While my home is somewhat south of here, I can be found in Campbell River on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday mornings. For the time being Sunday morning services will take place via Zoom.
